Simply? Mark and I met because we had mutual friends. That’s the easy answer. That’s the answer half the world uses: We had mutual friends. But this situation isn’t really that, because it involved way too many moving pieces, timelines, common interests, and people. It is, in its own way, a perfectly ridiculous adventure.

Long-Distance Marriage

He’s there.  I’m here.  And between us is an ocean and five hours. It’s by choice because right now — it’s what our individual families need.

So how do you build a marriage when you spend about two months of your year together? We’re not sure, but we’re figuring it out as we go along.

Travel Tips

We travel a lot. We have to. But no, we don’t have a “ton” of frequent flier miles.

Should we? Probably. But to do that, we have to use different credit cards (nope) and stick to one or two airlines, and they’re hardly every the cheapest options. And we are bargain hunters. We have to be.
